ASCAP Waives Fees In Gulf Coast

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

In a move to aid local customers affected by Hurricane Katrina, ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) is waiving the licensing fees owed by customers located in the affected Gulf Coast area. Restaurants, bars, retail outlets and educational institutions will not have to pay from September-December 2005 and local radio and television customers will be credited for the months of September-October 2005.

A complete list of eligible areas is available at www.ascap.com/licensing/katrina.

"Many of ASCAP's licensing customers, the users of our members' music, were devastated by the effect of Hurricane Katrina," said ASCAP ]senior vice president of Licensing Vincent Candilora. "We want to do what we can to help get them on the road to recovery as soon as possible."
