Atlanta's Music Midtown is making some dramatic additions this year as the internationally recognized three-day festival enters its 12th season. It will take place on new dates, June 10-12, at the same location and will feature more than 100 musical acts.
Some of the headlining acts are
The White Stripes,
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers,
Kid Rock and
The Pixies.
Additional artists include The Killers, Joan Jett, Keane, Coheed and Cambria, The Features, Bloc Party, MoFro and Louis XIV.
To capitalize on the growing popularity of country music, Music Midtown will feature the Kicks 101.5 Country Stage this year with Keith Urban, Loretta Lynn, Cross Canadian Ragweed on June 10, Atlanta's own Alan Jackson on June 11 and Montgomery Gentry, Joe Dee Messina and more on June 12.
"Music Midtown 2005 will present the greatest assembly of music talent in the history of Atlanta," said Peter Conlon, president of Peter Conlon Presents and festival producer. "In addition to enjoying great music, festival goers will have the opportunity to interact with the best local artists, enjoy great food from 45+ vendors and experience an art installation. All this and more additions will set a new threshold for festivals throughout the world." –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
