Beyonce, Adele Lead Noms For 2016 Video Music Awards


NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — MTV announced the nominees for this year's Video Music Awards on Tuesday, with Beyonce and Adele in the lead.

Beyonce broke her own record, coming in with 11 nominees, including picks for Video of the Year and Best Female Video. Adele followed with eight noms, also picking up nods for Video of the Year and Best Female Video.

Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Drake's "Hotline Bling" and Kanye West's "Famous," also picked up nominations for Video of the Year.

Kanye West, The Weeknd, Calvin Harris, Bryson Tiller and Drake all were recognized with nominations for Best Male Video freshmen including Bryson Tiller, Desiigner, Zara Larsson, Lukas Graham and DNCE, all earned nominations for Best New Artist.

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on August 28th at New York City's Madison Square Gardens. MTV will broadcast the festivities live. – Staff Writers
