Bus Crash Halts Mr. Lif & The Coup Tour

SAN DIEGO, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – A tour bus carrying underground hip-hop star Mr. Lif, and supporting acts The Coup, DJ Big Wiz, and Metro flipped over and burst into flames on Monday, about 40 miles outside of San Diego. All involved in the accident survived, but four have been taken to a nearby hospital.

The remaining dates on the tour have been cancelled.

On his official website, a statement by Mr. Lif read: “The tour bus ran off the road for a 30 foot drop. Everyone is alive, but four need extensive hospitalization and surgery. We appreciate all concern and would like to thank everyone who was planning to attend our shows.

DJ Big Wiz, The Coup’s Silk-E and Mr. Lif’s merchandise assistant, Zarha, sustained the most serious injuries in the accident, according to the Definitive Jux label website. Wiz reported shattered his knee cap and broke his nose, Silk-E broke some ribs and Zarha injured her hand and was undergoing surgery, according to Definitive Jux CEO and artist El-P.

All merchandise and equipment on the bus was destroyed in the fire.
