(CelebrityAccess News Service) — Clear Channel Entertainment has appointed Joe Hickey to the post of vice president, National Sales & Marketing, based in Washington, DC. In this new position, Hickey will focus on selling naming rights to Clear Channel owned and/or operated theatrical and music venues as well as national sponsorships and marketing platforms for Clear Channel Entertainment’s more than 32,000 annual entertainment events.

Hickey has spent the last six years with NFL clubs, most recently serving as director of Business Development for the Arizona Cardinals. In that position since May 2000, he was responsible for sponsorship and suite sales, and the development and sale of other promotional rights and team inventory. He concentrated on the sale of local and regional marketing programs for the team and stadium, while coordinating with the NFL on national League-wide sponsorship initiatives. Prior to joining the Cardinals, he spent four years in corporate sales in Baltimore, marketing sponsorship, media, suites and premium seats for the Ravens and their then-new stadium. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
