Farm Aid 'Corrals' Near 1M Viewers

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG Digital Media recently helped ensure the successful transmission and delivery of the 25th annual Farm Aid benefit concert, Farm Aid 25: Growing Hope for America. The event was held at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 2nd, and reached a record viewing audience online of more than 975,000.

The concert, which was broadcast live and in HD on DirecTV's The 101 Network, Willie Nelson's SIRIUS XM music channel, Willie's Place, and YouTube, brought together a wide variety of musicians, farmers and fans for one mission: keeping family farmers on their land.

Having worked with Farm Aid for the last seven years, AEG Digital Media was tasked with creating a branded player for the live webcast, down-linking the live satellite transmission from Milwaukee to their broadcast operations center in Los Angeles, encoding the live feed into multiple bit-rates including HD, and monitoring the ingestion and transmission of the encoded feed to the content distribution network. In addition, AEG Digital Media also split the day's performances into individual videos, now available to view on the Farm Aid website and YouTube.

Matt Glidden, Farm Aid’s web marketing manager, was pleased with this year’s digital take on the festival. “This year’s webcast gave us the unique opportunity to connect with more viewers than we've ever had all over the world and share Farm Aid's music and message.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
