Fats Domino Reported Missing In New Orleans


(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Antoine "Fats" Domino is missing in New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina as reported on ABC's Nightline on August 31 and followed up on Fox News on September 1. Domino, 76, was last heard from on August 29, the day of the hurricane, from his three-story pink-roofed house in New Orleans' 9th ward, which has been flooded since the water broke through the levee. He was with his wife Rosemary and daughter. Fox News reports that he told his agent Al Embry "that he would ride out the storm” at home. Embry is now frantic, according to Fox.


Singer Irma Thomas is also missing according to Fox News. Her club, The Lion's Den, is reportedly flooded.

New Orleans singer/songwriter Allen Toussaint. was confirmed by Fox News as one of the 25,000 people holed up at the New Orleans Superdome hoping to get on a bus for Houston’s Astrodome.

Aaron Neville and many members of the family evacuated to a Memphis hotel on August 29; most of their New Orleans homes are destroyed, according to Fox News. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
