NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Festival organizers were forced to cancel the final day of Governors Ball 2016 due to severe weather and lightning risks.
The National Weather Service called for heavy rain and thunderstorms in the region on Sunday afternoon with possible isolated downpours, small hail, damaging wind gusts and flash-flooding.
Artists including Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Two Door Cinema Club and Betty Who were scheduled to perform at the festival on Sunday. Following the cancellation, many of the affected artists moved shows to venues in and around New York.
The festival was soaked in a downpour on Saturday night but the event continued despite the rain. – Staff Writers
