BUFFALO, N.Y. (CelebrityAccess) — Buffalo's First Niagara has officially made the transition to its new name Keybank Center. The venue's new moniker follows KeyCorp's acquisition of First Niagara Financial Group in May.
"This has been a tremendous endeavor. We have so many enhancements that our fans are going to enjoy because of this partnership," Keybank tenant Buffalo Sabres President Russ Brandon told Time Warner Cable News.
In addition to the new name, the venue has seen some upgrades to its physical plant, including free WiFi, updated lighting, and a new lounge.
The first scheduled event for the facility under the Keybank will be when the Buffalo Sabres take the ice against the Canadiens on Oct. 13. – Staff Writers
