LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — John Giddings has been tapped as the global agent and promoter for Universal Music's joint venture company All the Worlds F1 Rocks television and live music events.
Giddings, the head of the London-based Solo Agency, reps performers such as Genesis and Celine Dion and promotes across the pond for Live Nation as well as organizing the giant annual Isle of Wight festival.
All The Worlds pacted with international racing body Formula One Administration Ltd last year to develop F1 Rocks, a series of multi-artist live music events staged at various Formula 1 events around the world.
According to Billboard, Giddings, an F1 enthusiast himself, will be looking for international talent for the series and the acts won't be limited to performers signed to Universal.
"Some of my acts would love to do it, they're petrol heads, and lots of other acts are very interested in the concept," Giddings told Billboard.biz. "It's just another great gig to do that didn't exist before."
Giddings also hinted that the format for the events would be festival-like and would likely be multi-act, multi-day events.
"It [the F1 Rocks events] will be from two nights to four nights and some of them will be multi-act bills," Giddings told Billboard. "Some of them will be within the Grand Prix venue and some won't. It's a great opportunity for groups as well and creates another level of touring.
"It can be one-offs or it can be part of a tour, it depends where the gig is and whether the group is in that region of the world. These races do go all around the globe so I'm sure it will interact with certain groups at certain places." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
