BRISTOL, UK (CelebrityAccess) — The Bristol Bierkeller, a 750-capacity indie concert space in Bristol, abruptly announced that they were shuttering on February 8th.
The All Saints Street club’s owners laid the blame for the closing at the feet of their landlord, stating that the owners of the property are moving forward with plans to redevelop the site.
“This is a very sad time for all of us at the Bierkeller, there have been some historic gigs over the years including the first UK show for Nirvana…Royal Blood, Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys, Janes Addiction, Tool, PJ Harvey, Stone Roses, Cage the Elephant, Pixes, Ash, Fear Factory, Nile, Sleaford Mods…it goes on.. plus all the great theatre, comedy and club nights….but that’s it…all done….” the venue’s owners wrote in a Facebook post announcing the closure.
The abrupt closure created turmoil for the club’s calendar. The lion’s share of scheduled dates have been shifted to neighboring venues, but other scheduled shows, including concerts by Dressed To Kill and Def Oasis, have been canceled.
Refunds for all upcoming shows are being offered at the point of purchase, the venue said.
