LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Soul singer Ike Turner was jailed and then released on Wednesday, May 16th, after Los Angeles police arrested him on what turned out to be an invalid warrant.
LAPD officers pulled Turner over for speeding when they saw his 2002 Mercedes-Benz S-50 driving more than 80mph and straddling lanes on the 405 Freeway late Tuesday night.
After running a warrants check, officers discovered that the entertainer had a 1989 felony narcotics warrant.
Officers left the Mercedes with an assistant, and took Turner into custody at the downtown Twin Towers jail. He was freed Wednesday afternoon after it was determined that the warrant was invalid. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
