Jazz Returns To MOBO

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) awards sparked controversy in 2006 when they inexplicably dropped the jazz and world music categories from their annual awards show. The decision aroused the ire of music fans and performers alike, leading to vocal public protests, led by Jazz musicians, outside of the event.

Well, never let it be said that MOBO organizers can't learn from their missteps. While world music still is absent from the awards, the Jazz category has made a return. The awards, scheduled for September 19th, will take place at London's 02 Arena and be hosted by Jamelia & Shaggy. This year's awards presentation show will feature performances by 50 Cent, Ne-yo, Robin Thicke, Mutya Buena, Craig David & Kano among others.
