Live Nation's Korean Big Bang


SEOUL, South Korea (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation has signed on to promoter Korean pop band Big Bang's forthcoming international tour which will take the band through 25 cities in 16 countries across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

The Alive Tour 2012 is set to kick off with a trio of sold-out concerts in at the Olympic Gymnastics Hall in Seoul from March 2-4. The tour will be Live Nation's first full international outing with an Asian artist.

Live Nation has tapped Laurieann Gibson to serve as creative director for the tour. She has recently directed Lady Gaga’s “The Monster Ball Tour”, and was the choreographer/Director for her music videos such as ‘You and I’, ‘Poker Face’, ‘Judas’, and ‘Telephone’. In the past, Laurieann has also worked with other major artists such as Shakira, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, and Katy Perry.

Big Bang, composed of G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung and Seungri was the first Asian group to to receive the "Worldwide Act" Award at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards. Big Bang will be touring in support of their forthcoming 'mini album' Alive, which is set to be released on Feb. 29th, the band's management company YG Entertainment said.
