Los Angeles Forms EDM Task Force

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — In the wake of the deaths of two teenagers at a rave at the Pomona Fairplex in August, Los Angeles County has established a special Electronic Music Task Force to examine EDM festivals.

The task force is mandated with developing recommendations for enforceable health and safety measures and procedures, that would be required for all electronic music festivals on County-owned property, and to report back in 120 days.

Despite the task force, the specter of a permanent ban for EDM events still hangs over the city.

“Ultimately, in the interest of public safety, a ban of electronic music festivals at County-owned properties remains a possibility that will continue to be evaluated,” the motion from the County said.
