NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Country music legend Merle Haggard pulled out of his second performance at the Iron N Ink festival in Nashville on Friday over a contract dispute.
Shortly before Haggard was scheduled to take the stage at the four day festival, he issued a statement through his Facebook page saying he wouldn't be performing.
"Tonight my management team advised me that the terms and conditions of my contract with Ink & Iron had not been met for last night's show and would not be met by showtime tonight. I place my confidence in my management team to make these decisions. I regret that I will not perform for my Nashville fans tonight. I look forward to returning to Nashville soon under better circumstances."
Organizers for the event told The Tennessean that they would extend access to the festival for the full weekend to people who'd purchased passes to Friday's show.
Haggard was the headliner for the four-day event, which caters to fans of tattoos, custom cars and Americana. – Staff Writers
