OTTAWA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Ottawa promoter PRS Concerts, who has drawn acts such as the Pixies, Tool, Modest Mouse and Wilco to the city in recent years, is calling it quits after more than 5 years.
Co-owner Erik “Jigs” Hoffman, an Ottawa native who founded the company with longtime friend Kelly Wren in 2001, said he made the decision to cease operations several months ago, partly due to the increased demands of his job as a talent buyer in Vancouver for House of Blues Concerts Canada.
“My role has become significantly more time-consuming at House of Blues in western Canada,” Hoffman told the Ottawa Citizen. “I was finding it fairly taxing to maintain a business as well as do what I do out here.”
PRS will present one final concert, featuring rocker Matt Mays at Barrymore’s Music Hall on January 17th. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
