NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — U2 has rescheduled a string of dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan that had been postponed earlier this spring due to an unidentified illness of an immediate family member of the band. To make up for the sacked dates, U2 has invited Pearl Jam and Kanye West to join them on the new dates.
West will resume his planned role to open the original Australia and New Zealand dates, which start November 24th in Auckland. Pear Jam will join U2 on December 9th in Honolulu, marking the first time those bands have shared a stage since 1993.
Ticket holders for the original Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii shows are being asked to retain their tickets, as they will be valid for the new dates.
The band was unable to reschedule a planned show in Yokohama, Japan, so it has instead confirmed a November 29-30, December 4th run at Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena. Fans with tickets for the Yokohama show will be eligible for a special pre-sale for the makeup dates.
The full make-up tour itinerary is as follows:
Nov. 7 – Brisbane – QSAC Stadium
Nov. 10-11 – Sydney – Telstra Stadium
Nov. 16 – Adelaide – AAMI Stadium
Nov. 18-19 – Melbourne – Telstra Dome
Nov. 24-25 – Auckland – Ericsson Stadium
