TAURANGA, New Zealand (CelebrityAccess) — Phil Rudd, the former drummer for Australian rock outfit AC/DC, announced he is striking out on his own with a new solo album and tour of the UK and Europe next year.
According to AXS.com, Rudd is planning a 25-show run starting in late March and proceeding trhough May. He is touring in support of his debut solo effort Head Job, which was released in August. The album, which was produced by Rudd, features Geoffrey Martin on guitar and Allan Badger on bass and vocals
The sixty-two year old drummer was replaced in AC/DC by Chris Slade for their most recent tour behind legal troubles in his home country New Zealand that included drug charges and an alleged murder for hire scheme.
