Pozitif Scraps Rockn' Coke Festival

INSTANBUL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — This year's Rockn' Coke Festival has been scrapped by the events organizers, Pozitif. According to a post on the festival's website the plug was pulled on the 2008 iteration of the event primarily due to a number of hoped-for artists not being available to perform.

"Unfortunately, as a result of the fact that this year the artists we had set our sights on were unavailalbe on our dates or not touring in our geographic region, we were forced to make the very difficult decision not to realize the festival this year." said a statement from the event's organizers.

The two-day camper has been held at the Hezarfen Airfield in Instanbul since 2003 and last year, featured a meaty lineup including Franz Ferdinand, The Smashing Pumpkins, Badly Drawn Boy and numerous others.

While Pozitif has indicated that they have every intention of bringing the festival back to life in 2009, Rockn' Coke isn't the only one of their events to undergo changes. The Efes Pilsen One Love Festival has a new location and is now a two day event, with a lineup consisting of what they describe as disco-lectro dancetastic acts on day one and balka-lectro, punk-tastic on day two. Where headliners like Gogol Bordello and Roisin Murphy fit into those descriptions, we're not entirely sure. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
