Promoter Bette Kaye Dies At 84


(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Bette Jean Kappmeyer, better known to those in the music business as Bette Kaye, died June 11 in Sacramento, California, at the age of 84.

The dedicated promoter launched Bette Kaye Productions while in Germany in the 1940s, producing top-name entertainment at fairs across the country. She later partnered with Don Romeo and George Moffett to form Rete, one of the first production companies to buy talent in blocks. The company was often known to purchase up to 60 fair dates for country artists.


She was born in 1921 in Chicago, and later served the country as an Army WAC.

She is survived by 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, according to the Sacramento Bee. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
