SHREVEPORT, LA (CelebrityAccess) — New Orleans-based rapper Mystikal surrendered himself to authorities in Shreveport after learning that he was sought in connection with an alleged sexual assault.
Police in Shreveport charged Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Tyler, and Averweone Holman, 26, of Killeen, with one count of first-degree rape. Police told the Times that the charges were based on DNA evidence that allegedly linked the two men to an attack that occurred last October.
Killeen was arrested in Texas on Friday by the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force. Bail for both men was set at $2 million each, the Shreveport Times reported.
A third person, Tenichia Wafford, 42, of Harker Heights, Texas, has also been charged as an accessory after the fact in the alleged rape after she was alleged to have approached the victim in an effort to convince her to drop the charges against Tyler and Holman.
In 2004, Mystikal and two of his bodyguards plead guilty to sexual battery after forcing a woman to perform oral sex on him after they accused her of stealing $80,000 worth of his checks. She denied stealing any money. He was sentenced to six years in the case.
