BURLINGAME, CA (Hypebot) – MixMatchMusic has acquired Mix2r. MixMatchMusic enables musicians and fans to collaborate on music and features a library of 2500 songs stems. Mix2r adds a large community of electronica artists who have uploaded songs and stems and allowed others to create derivative works.
Encouraging outsiders to evolve in the creative process is perhaps the deepest form of fan engagement. Using both full songs and stems of guitar, bass, drums, keys and other instruments as the building blocks of new songs, the combined site encourages mash ups and remixes to create new songs and ringtones.

Nickull, who is a well known senior technical evangelist for Adobe, said the Mix2r site uses Adobe Flash Platform technologies including Adobe Flash, Flex and Adobe AIR.. These technologies, which are critical to Web-based online collaboration, will be used to create future versions of the combined site.
