Santa Rosa Island Authority Looking To Renegotiate Concert Contract

PENSACOLA, FL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Santa Rosa Island Authority is heading back to the bargaining table over a proposed deal to hire a promoter to stage a series of concerts at the Gulfside Pavilion.

According to the Pensacola News-Journal, the original contract with BonfireJam promoter Joe Lewis would see the Authority lay out $800,000 for four concerts, of which Lewis would be paid $19,500 per concert. Profits from the four shows would be split evenly between the Authority and promoter, but the Authority would be on the hook for the losses.

The board has decided that the deal wouldn't, according to chairman Ed Guernsey "pass the headline test" and has instructed executive director W.A. "Buck" Lee to renegotiate the contract.

The contract, if a new deal can be struck, will be brought back to the board for further discussion on October 12th. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
