Show Me Center's David Ross Announces Retirement

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Veteran facilities manager and former IAVM president David Ross has announced that after 25 years, he's stepping down as Exec. Director of the Show Me Center in Missouri effective May 31st.

Bob Cerchio, the assistant director at the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts has been tapped to serve as interim director while a national search is conducted for a permanent replacement for Ross.

According to Venues Today, Ross has been with the Show Me Center since he helped to open it in 1987. Prior to signing on at the Center, Ross spent two years at the University of Tennessee and worked with the North American Soccer League for a seven year stretch.

Ross also served as president for the International Association of Venue Managers from 2005-2006.

Ross told Venues Today that his future plans include a lot of golf and perhaps a short term consulting gig if something comes along.

"If there’s a short-term opportunity available, I’ll take it. Everyone says they want to consult when they retire; we’ll see what’s out there for me," Ross told Venues Today. “Right now the only deadline I’m worried about making is my next tee time." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
