Stolen Roskilde Festival Wristbands In Circulation

ROSKLIDE, Denmark (VIP-NEWS) — 300 plastic wristbands for employees to Roskilde Festival '08 have been stolen and are sold on the street in Denmark. The festival warns everybody against buying these wristbands.

300 wristbands – with a value of approx.
€ 67,000 – have been stolen from Roskilde Festival.

The wristbands are of the kind that are given to volunteers at the festival. They are made of plastic and are individually numbered.

Sold on the street
It has been brought to Roskilde Festival's attention that the wristbands are being sold in various cities, including Copenhagen, so we warn everybody against buying wristbands on the street or anywhere else. Purchase of valid access to Roskilde Festival is only possible in the shape of tickets.

Wristbands for volunteers are not for sale but are only handed out for free to all volunteers at the festival.

The numbers on all stolen wristbands have been registered, and anyone who tries to get access to the festival by means of one of these wristbands will be turned away. We also refuse admission to people wearing wristbands where the numbers have been rubbed off or are unreadable. You also risk being sentenced for handling stolen goods. It is a provision in the criminal law that can give a prison sentence up to 1 year and 6 months.
