LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Former Death Row Records exec Marion "Suge" Knight was taken to the hospital shortly after pleading not guilty to charges that included murder in a fatal hit-and-run incident which took place in Los Angeles last week.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Sergeant Pauline Panis told the Associated Press that Knight was taken to the hospital for a medical condition but did not elaborate.
TMZ reported that Knight complained of chest pains.
Knight is facing trial after running over two men following a fight at a movie set in Compton. According to the Los Angeles Times, Knight engaged in a physical altercation with a man through the window while Knight was in his Ford F-150 Raptor. Knight allegedly put the vehicle in reverse, knocking the man down and then, ran the over, killing him while driving forward. Knight's vehicle also allegedly struck another man, leaving him with serious injuries before leaving the scene.
"From what I understand, he was being attacked and was trying to get away from the attack," Knight's attorney, David Kenner, said outside of court.
The second victim is said to be considering a civil suit against Knight. – Staff Writers
