Swiss Festival Criticized By Local Promoters

A 30,000-patron festival planned for Interlaken Airport is under intense pressure from local promoters after complaints that Folkert Koopmans, of Germany-based FKP Scorpio Konzertproduktionen, Dieter Boes, of Germany-based Ko-Ko Entertainment, Thomas Durr, of Switzerland-based Act Entertainment, and Lorenze Krebs, of the Switzerland-based Jungfrau World Events, are barging into an already busy market.

The Swiss Promoters’ Association is asking members for suggestions on how to stop Koopmans and his partners from holding the event. Other festivals, such as Phillippe Cornu’s “Gurten Festival” fear that they will lose business to the new festival. The “Gurten Festival” is only three weeks after the planned even and 50 kilometers from the site.
