The Family Stone Debuts New Music At Glasto

PILTON, UK (CelebrityAccess) — The Family Stone performed at Glastonbury on June 27th, debuting their new song "Do Yo Dance” and some of their classic hits before joining George Clinton for a rendition of his hit "One Nation Under Groove" and then Sly Stone's hit “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin).”

The Family Stone's Glastonbury gig was part of a busy tour schedule for the group, who are also appearing at The Glasgow Jazz Festival, Worthing Pier, and France’s renown Jazz å Vienne. Then the group heads to LAX for Independence Day celebrations: July 3 at Spotlight 29 in Coachella, and the 4th in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Next they are Headlining the annual Hippiefest Tour from July 9 in Tucson, AZ through October 4 in Waukegan, IL. Other acts on the Hippiefest 2015 lineup are: Rick Derringer, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, and Badfinger with Joey Molland. Some dates will include Felix Cavaliere’s New Rascals, the Lovin’ Spoonful, and Rare Earth’s Peter Rivera.

The Family Stone currently consists of founding members saxophonist Jerry Martini, drummer Greg Errico, and trumpet player Cynthia Robinson, along with singer Phunne (pronounced “Fun”), daughter of Cynthia and Sly Stone (founder of Sly and The Family Stone), keyboardist Alex Davis, guitarist Nate Wingfield and bassist/musical director Blaise Sison.
