LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation's Ticketmaster has revealed a new feature, interactive seating maps designed to be intergrated with social networking website Facebook.
The maps allow ticket purchasers to tag themselves into seats, letting other users on Facebook see where their friends are sitting and what nearby seats are available for purchase. The widget also allows some privacy control in who users share their seating information with, letting them share it with everyone, or just their friends.
At launch, Live Nation says that there are more than 9,000 interactive seating maps available on Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.
"Live events are inherently social and leveraging social media to enhance them allows the passion to exist in the digital space before, during and after live events," said Nathan Hubbard, CEO of Ticketmaster. "Our team is fanatical about leading the industry forward and we will continue to innovate the live experience."
