Union County Performing Arts Center Signs With HoB

RAHWAY, NJ (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Union County Performing Arts Center, the centerpiece of the Rahway Arts District has signed a multi-year booking contract with Live Nation subsidiary House of Blues Entertainment.

The deal will see HoB produce at least 40 shows a year on the historic, 1,300-seat venue's main stage, starting with a show by comedian Jim Breuer on October 12th. Other shows already on the books include Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo (Nov. 1); Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show (Nov. 3); an exclusive New Jersey engagement by L.A rockers The Wallflowers (Nov. 10); country star Clint Black (Nov. 29); and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild & Swingin’ Christmas Party (Dec. 13).

While Live Nation will handle all in-house programming, the building remains available for outside promoters to bring in additional shows to the Mainstage as well as The Loft at UC PAC upstairs.

Originally a vaudeville and silent movie palace opened in 1928, UCPAC underwent a $6.2-million renovation and expansion project, that was completed in 2007. As a part of the expansion, the venue was purchased by the County for $1.3 million and leased back to the UC PAC for the princely sum of $1 dollar a year. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
