Axl Falls Ill During London Concert

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose had to leave the stage during the final stop on the band’s European tour at London’s Wembley Arena, after a doctor had advised the singer not to perform.

Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, who had joined the band on stage earlier in the performance, stepped in to complete the show.

Rose had been treated for low blood pressure and low blood sugar earlier in the day, after performing two shows the day before, according to BBC News.

Rose said after the show that the band had “an amazing tour.”

“I approached this last show with equal parts determination, obligation, responsibility and insanity,” he said. “It was an amazing night.”

Rose first felt sick on early Sunday morning after performing at Wembley Arena on Saturday night, then showing up for a surprise concert at London’s Cuckoo Club afterward.

Rose managed to perform for two hours on Sunday night, with Bach taking over for part of the final song, “Night Train,” and the encore, “Paradise City.”

The Gunners’ European tour drew more than 700,000 people over 32 shows.

“I want to thank everyone in Europe and the UK for inspiring us and for giving us the opportunity to play for them,” Rose said.
