Kyocera Keeps ‘Osaka’ In Dome Name

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Kyocera Corp., which recently signed a five-year naming rights contract with the Orix Buffaloes home stadium Osaka Dome, has agreed to keep the name of the city in the facility’s name after pressure from local merchants and residents.

The Kyocera Osaka Dome, named for both the Kyoto-based technology manufacturer and the arena’s city, was originally going to be known as the Kyocera Dome. The Osaka business community expressed disappointment that the dome would not reflect the city in its new name, which caused the company to rethink the decision.

The deal with Osaka City Dome Co. will help increase public awareness of the Kyocera group as the dome attracts 3.6 million people annually.

The company would not specify the value of the five-year naming rights deal. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
