NEW YORK, NY (CelebrityAccess) – Jay-Z’s Roc Nation is set to launch a television production division. The new department will be headed by Patrick Reardon, who comes over from The Weinstein Company where he most notably headed the Project Runway franchise.
In his new role as Roc Nation’s exec VP of scripted and unscripted television, Reardon will be responsible for building and running the TV department, and focusing on developing and producing premium scripted and unscripted content.
“Roc Nation is such an influential and dynamic company. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them as they expand their brand into television,” said Reardon.
The announcement follows the success of Roc Nation’s recent TV and film projects including Spike TV’s “Time: The Kalief Browder Story” and “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,” both of which were executive produced by Jay-Z. The company also currently represents Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Mariah Carey, J. Cole, Van Jones, Angie Martinez and a number of other artists, personalities, and sports stars.
