Yarrow Stadium in New Plymouth, New Zealand has been closed down because of earthquake fears. Its owners say geotechnical testing on the west stand of the 24,000-seat stadium, home to the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls rugby team, showed there was significant earthquake risk, according to Pan Stadia magazine. The stadium underwent significant upgrades in 2009 to bring it up to Rugby World Cup standards.

The House of Commons in the UK is planning to discuss June 25 standing at football matches in the Premier League and Championship after a petition was signed by 110,000 endorsing standing at football matches, according to Pan Stadia. Many football fans reportedly want the laws preventing standing areas to be relaxed after rail seating was successful at Celtic Park and numerous Bundesliga clubs.

Dundee Football Club in Scotland has landed a deal with Tayside company Kilmac, who will sponsor their stadium for two years. The stadium will be named Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park, according to Pan Stadia.

Renderings have been released for a new $200 million stadium in Austin, Texas, for the Columbus Crew SC, according to Pan Stadia magazine. A suitable 24-acre site has been identified at McKalla Place in north Austin.

Centerplate has agreed to a 10-year extension to its contract to continue delivering food & bev to the 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
