LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Comedian Tiffany Haddish, who made a splash with her breakout performance in the 2017 hit comedy “Girls Trip” will be the latest comedian to be featured in an hour-long stand-up special on the video on demand service Netflix.
“Tiffany Haddish is a force,” said Lisa Nishimura, VP of Original Documentary and Comedy in a press statement. “Hilariously funny, brash and self-effacing, she’s an incredible artist who is winning over audiences while breaking barriers, and we are tremendously proud that she will showcase her formidable talent on Netflix.”
Haddish sharpened her comedic chops in the Los Angeles club scene, earning her first break with a spot on the comedy competition “Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes.” She parlayed that into further television gigs, including My Name is Earl, Chelsea Lately, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Haddish currently stars opposite Tracy Morgan in the TBS sitcom, The Last O.G., her first lead in a sitcom. As well, she recently appeared in the comedy special “Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood” for premium cable channel Showtime.
Haddish has previously collaborated with Netflix and in February, signed on as an executive producer and a lead voice in the animated series “Tuca & Bertie,” co-starring comedian, Ali Wong.
