BTS’ ‘Idol’ Breaks Record For Biggest YouTube 24-Hour Debut of All Time

SOUTH KOREA (CelebrityAccess) – South Korean boy band BTS has officially broken the record for biggest YouTube 24-hour debut of all time with their latest release “Idol.”

According to a YouTube spokesperson, the video, which was made public on the site Friday morning, earned more than 45 million views in its first 24 hours, surpassing Taylor Swift’s previous record for “Look What You Made Me Do” (43.2 million views).

The track also exceeds BTS’ own previously held record for the biggest 24-hour YouTube debut of 2018. Their single “Fake Love,” which was released back in May, amassed 35.9 million views in a single day.

“Idol,” is the lead-off track from the group’s latest album, Love Yourself: Answer, which also dropped on Friday.

The song has amassed more than 86 million views as of publication time today (Aug. 27).
