(CelebrityAccess) – The Weeknd and Daft Punk are being sued by Somali-American poet Yasminah over claims that they ‘stole the beat’ for their monster 2016 single, “Starboy” from her 1999 song “Hooyo.”

In the $5 million lawsuit, Yasminah also accuses them of using the “same hook, same key and a similar tempo,” going on to suggest that The Weeknd (real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) knows of her songs because of his East African background.

According to TMZ, this is not the first time Yasminah has threated Tesfaye with legal action. Two of her producers allegedly reached a previous settlement with the singer’s camp, however, Yasminah says she “never got a cut” so has had to resort to suing them again.
