LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — AEG Presents has hired Dennis Dennehy for the newly-created role of chief communications officer.
According to Billboard, who broke the story, Dennehy will oversee AEG Presents media relations and collaborate with AEG Presents’ artists and management partners to develop media strategies to support AEG Presents business units, tours, and regional offices.
“It’s a chance for me to do something a little different in the music industry,” Dennehy told Billboard. “It’s a great challenge that puts my skills to work in a different segment within the music business with people I’ve known for a really long time and really like.”
Dennehy comes to his new post from the label side of the industry and toiled for the last two decades at Interscope Geffen A&M, including serving as head of publicity under Jimmy Iovine.
AEG Worldwide’s current Vice President of Communications Michael Roth will continue to serve as a spokesperson for the company’s venues.
