LISBON, Portugal (CelebrityAccess) –Live Nation will mark the 15th anniversary of its Rock In Rio brand in Portugal with a multi-day free entry concert series that is expected to draw more than 150,000 people to Lisbon.
Set for September 6, 7 and 8 at Lisbon’s Tower of Belém, the event will feature an Orchestra composed by 60 musicians and conducted by Maestro Rui Massena set to a pyrotechnic display on Sept 6th; British rock band James who will perform on the 7th; and “Bahia’s hurricane” Ivete Sangalo, who will perform on September 8th.
“Rock in Rio is part of the entertainment history in Portugal and Portuguese people are part of Rock in Rio’s. In September we will celebrate these 15 years the way we like and know the best: mobilizing the city to a huge party, where music and happiness will be king and queen,” states Roberta Medina, Executive VP of Rock in Rio.
Rock in Rio-Lisboa will return to Bela Vista Park (Lisbon) in 2020, for its 9th edition, from June 20, 21, 27 and 28.
The Rock in Rio team has also brought other events to Lisbon, including the the community Worten Game City an event dedicated to the gaming industry, produced by Rock in Rio, last May, which reached more than 4 million people with its digital footprint, and the Galp Valley Music Sessions, a four-concert event which landed in Lisbon in April and May.
