(CelebrityAccess) — Billboard is reporting that Southern California-based independent festival producer Synergy Global Entertainment has effectively ceased operations.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the company’s website was in maintenance mode, and as Billboard noted, had released its staff, most of which have been rehired by indie promoter Danny Wimmer Presents.

SGE suffered several significant setbacks in 2019, including the cancellation of the Mad Decent Block Party Festival, which was slated to take place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

At the time the event was canceled, with little over a week before the event was scheduled to start, organizers released a vague statement citing “circumstances beyond our control” for the cancellation.

“All parties involved have agreed that moving forward would be a disservice to fans and artists alike, and cancellation is in everyone’s best interest,” organizers said in a statement released at the time.

Other events, including the Disrupt Festival Tour which featured headliners The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, Sum 41, did not meet financial expectations, Billboard reported.

At present, no announcement has been made regarding the status of the On The Water Festival, which is scheduled to take place at Huntington Beach in Los Angeles on October 12th and 13th.

Ohana Fest, which SGE founder John Reese produces in collaboration with Live Nation, will be unaffected, Billboard noted.
