NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) – Warner Records has announced that its has appointed Jason Heller senior vp of business & legal affairs.
Heller joins Warner following more than a decade at RCA Records, where he worked with the likes of Childish Gambino, Khalid and Miley Cyrus as vp, business & legal affairs.
A graduate of Yale University and Columbia Law School, Heller also previously served as an associate at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, where he specialized in intellectual property law and represented major record companies and publishers.
In his new role, he will report to Warner Records executive vp and head of business & legal affairs Julian Petty.
Commenting on the appointment, Petty said: “Jason is a tremendous addition to our new team at Warner Records. Over the past 17 years, both in the label world and in private practice, he’s helped forge agreements with artists at every level of development, from up-and-coming talent to superstars. I’ve negotiated against him on several deals throughout the years and witnessed his legal prowess firsthand. Jason has a fantastic reputation across the music and legal communities, and I’m very happy that he’s come on board to help us make Warner the place where artists’ rights are fiercely protected and their dreams are realized.”
Heller added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Warner Records at this transformational moment in the company’s history. Heller will be based out of Warner’s New York offices.
