NORTH CAROLINA (CelebrityAccess) – Police in North Carolina have arrested rapper Antonio Nathaniel “Lil Tony” Davenport Jr. (pictured right) of the group 83 Babies, in connection to the August drive-by shooting death of 9-year-old Z’Yon Person, The Associated Press is reporting.
According to Durham police, the 24-year-old rapper was charged with multiple offenses Tuesday at the Durham County Jail, where he was being held on charges stemming from a separate domestic violence case. The charges include: felony conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, five counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied property causing serious injury and three counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle/residence.
Investigators say the boy was shot and killed on August 18 while riding in an SUV with his aunt, sister and three cousins. An 8-year-old boy also reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.
Lil Tony and 83 Babies are signed to Rich the Kid’s Rich Forever label. They released their latest video for the song “No Hook” in May of this year.
