STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper A$AP Rocky is lined up for his first performance in Sweden since he spent more than three weeks in jail there in the wake of a street brawl earlier this year.
Rocky has been announced for a headlining show at the Ericsson Globe on Wednesday, December 11th
“A$AP Rocky will be taking the stage at the Ericsson Globe on Wednesday, December 11th for a special headlining concert. After an outcry of support from his Swedish fans he will return to Stockholm to deliver a triumphant show for all his supporters. Additional Swedish artists to be announced soon,” said a statement from the show’s promoter Live Nation.
Rocky was convicted on August 14th of assault following an incident in July where he and several members of his entourage were filmed attacking a man in the streets of Stockholm. A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has claimed that the victim in the attack was harassing him over a pair of headphones and of groping female bystanders.
In addition to time already served, Rocky received a suspended prison sentence and was ordered to pay damages of 12,500 Swedish krona (about $1,300 US). Following his release in August, he immediately left Sweden.
