NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — On Wednesday, AEG Presents announced that respected industry veteran Debra Rathwell has been promoted to the role of Executive Vice President, Global Touring and Talent.
“Debra continues to bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise and deep relationships to our company as a whole, and our department specifically,” AEG Presents’ President of Global Touring and Talent Gary Gersh said. “She has a fantastic vision for the global landscape and an unmatched commitment to her artists. She’s an integral part of our team, and I’m thrilled to announce this much-deserved promotion.”
Rathwell, who hails from Canada, started her music industry career while she was still a student at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, but eventually left her scholastic endeavors for a full-time concert promotion gig.
She moved to Montreal to work for Canadian concert legend Donald K Donald as VP of Concerts, where she oversaw tours for artists such as Celine Dion, Leonard Cohen, Tina Turner.
In 1994, Rathwell relocated to New York City to run the concert booking department for Metropolitan Entertainment.
Eight years later, she joined AEG as Senior Vice President and helped to launch the promoter’s New York Offices as well as promoting high profile tours for artists such as Elton John, Lorde, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, and JoJo Siwa, among others.
Last year, she was named Senior Vice President of the newly-created Global Touring and Talent department and she continues to be based in AEG’s New York offices.
“I’ve been so privileged to be a part of the ongoing growth and success of AEG’s concert business since I arrived here in 2002. It’s continually inspiring to come to work every day surrounded by such talented artists and co-workers, and I’m looking forward to what’s to come,” Rathwell said in a press statement.
