DETROIT (CelebrityAccess) — Rap-rocker Kid Rock is parting ways with his branded Detroit restaurant in the wake of his seemingly drunken, vulgarity-laden onstage rant against Oprah Winfrey last week.
According to the Associated Press, Chris Granger, group president of sports and entertainment for Ilitch Holdings, which owns Little Caesars Arena where the restaurant is located, said Kid Rock has “voluntarily decided” not to renew his licensing deal with the arena when it comes up in April.
The Ilitch statement noted that the organization’s venues are intended to be “open, inviting, inclusive, and respectful to all.”
Last week, TMZ posted a cellphone video of Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, on stage at the restaurant candidly expressing his dislike of Oprah Winfrey and Joy Behar, the co-host of the ABC talk show “The View.”
In the video, an apparently intoxicated Ritchie was later helped off stage by venue staff.
