PARK CITY, UT (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Darin Piccoli and Chris Mautz, owners of The State Room in Salt Lake City announced the opening of a new live music venue on Main Street in Park City, Utah. “A great JBL line array, incredible sight lines and tiered dance floors and sections make it flexible enough for dancing or seating with numerous options. Mautz and Piccoli are veterns of the industry working with such veneus as Red Butte, Garden, Meijer Gardens, Snowird Mountain Resort and the Utah Arts Frestival.
The venue, O.P. Rockwell, is named after an infamous, early Mormon pioneer, Orrin Porter Rockwell, Brigham Young’s ’security’, brewer and distiller. Not your typical pioneer of the 1800’s.
O.P.R. will be a 300 to 400 capacity live music venue. There will also be a cocktail bar with hand crafted signature cocktails that will be open when not doing shows.
The location is ideal and the feel of the place will capture the essence of Historic Park City and its western and mining heritage. This will be Park City being Park City. Not Park City trying to be LA or Vegas. It is what locals want and what visitors will embrace. Of course, we will not be afraid to turn it into a sweet nightclub from time to time.
In addition, O.P.R. will be configured to capture some of the deeper wealth in Park City, a bit like what Belly-Up does in Aspen. This will allow us to broaden the range of artist fees we hope to accommodate.
The layout of the space has some natural breaks and various levels to divide seating areas easily and allow for standing and seated on any given night.
On the production side there will be a flown JBL line array and a very adequate, mostly LED, lighting system with movers and conventionals. The stage size is approximately 24 by 24.
“We look forward to offering touring artists the opportunity to play both Salt Lake City and park city as we consider both markets able to work in concert." –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
