AEG Live UK Signs First '360' Deal

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG Live has signed its first '360' artist development deal with Britain-based singer Becky Jones, AKA Saint Saviour. Jones, who best known for touring with Groove Armada as their lead vocalist, also performed as a part of electro-pop band the RBGs.

AEG Live's UK offices told Audience Magazine that the company will finance the release of Jones upcoming album in return for an exclusive long term promotional deal, as well as a stake in the proceeds from her recording, publishing, licensing, sponsorship and merch revenue.

According to Audience, AEG Live's president of international touring Rob Hallett has been an advocate of AEG getting into artist development for several years.

"It's something we're going to do more of in the future," Hallett told the trade. "We're not out there knocking on doors, but after this, I know we'll be contacted by managers and I welcome it."

Saint Saviour’s Manager Dan O’Neil commented to CMU about the deal, "It feels right that we should be announcing such a groundbreaking partnership deal for Saint Saviour with a live touring company such as AEG Live UK. Stunning live performance has always been the ‘beating heart’ of what Saint Saviour is all about and, with this deal, AEG have demonstrated that they are truly backing, and directly investing in, new and exciting UK musical talent. This is a model of the future for young artists – no doubt."

Hallett went on to note that while they have an interest in artist development, AEG is not looking to get into the record business.

"We're not a record company and we don't intend to replace record companies – they do a very important job," Hallett added.

Saint Saviour's debut album "Union" is set for release on June 25th. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
