Aguilera Ticketholders Left In The Lurch

(AP) — Two months after Christina Aguilera canceled her summer tour, some ticketholders are still waiting for refunds.

Aguilera called off her 28-city summer tour, which was scheduled to begin in May, after she strained her vocal cords in the studio. FansRULE, which sold packages that included premium seats and a chance to meet the 23-year-old pop star, has posted a message on its Web site saying it is not able to pay back the money. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November.

"What should be made clear is that the inability to refund payments made for tickets is in no way the fault of Christina Aguilera. We understand that this puts a great many of you in a difficult situation, and are hopeful for a speedy resolution to this problem," according to the statement on www.fansrule.com.

Aguilera's management, meanwhile, suggests fans contact their credit card companies and cancel the transactions because the intended goods were not delivered.

Azoff Music Management, which represents Aguilera, has released a statement saying it had expected FansRULE to issue refunds by May 31. Azoff Music said it is "actively and aggressively pursuing FansRULE to cause them to refund the money," but so far has not been successful.
