ATA Files Suit Against Former R. Kelly Promoter

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — American Talent Agency has added themselves to the growing list of litigants seeking re-compensation from former R. Kelly promoter Leonard Rowe. Also named in the suit were Rowe Entertainment, Neal Wilson, Deshanna Wilson and N&D Entertainment. Through the suit, ATA is seeking unpaid commissions and expenses in excess of $230,000, plus $1,000,000 in punitive damages, for their efforts in connection with R Kelly Double-Up Tour 2007-2008.

Neal and Deshanna Wilson and 8 other complainants filed a lawsuit against ATA and Rowe among others, alleging that ATA had been "in bed" with Rowe for the purposes of defrauding the plaintiffs of their investment in the aforementioned R. Kelly tour.

ATA rejects these claims and has stated that they will vigorously defend itself in court.

"Both my client and Robert Kelly believe deeply in helping the "underdog", and in their own way, are working tirelessly to ensure the independent African American promoter does not go extinct." ATA's attorney Ira Meyerowitz stated.

As previously reported in CelebrityAccess, Rowe had been the subject of several lawsuits, most recently by R. Kelly, who alleged that Rowe engaged in a scheme of soliciting investments in R. Kelly's tour and then telling the investor that the investments hadn't panned out as tour had lost money. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
